On 16 March 2026, a National-Level Seminar on Plastic Waste Management in Aizawl City was held at the Govt. T. Romana College Conference Hall under the chairmanship of R. Lalremliana, Vice Principal. The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the growing challenges of plastic waste and to encourage responsible environmental practices among students.
The resource person, Mr. Romalsawma (Roma Hmar), an environmentalist, delivered an insightful presentation on the issues of plastic waste management and highlighted practical approaches to reducing plastic pollution. Following the presentation, an interactive session was conducted where students actively engaged with the resource person. A total of 104 students attended the seminar and benefited from the discussion. The program concluded with a photo session, marking the successful completion of the event.
The program was organized by Eco-Club, Govt. T.Romana College and IQAC under PM-USHA Scheme.

The college recently celebrated a cultural extravaganza on March 12, 2026, celebrating Chapchar Kut at the campus, with the aim of promoting unity and integrity through cultural promotion. The event saw participation from local NGOs, including the Republic vengthlang Local Council, MHIP, YMA, and MUP.
The celebration kicked off with the principal Dr.Jenifer Lalbiakdiki's welcome address where she spoke on the theme ZO ZEMAWI: INREMNA and stressed that peace should begin from each household, community and then effect humanity on the whole. This was followed by the keynote address by Chairman of the Local Council. The event also featured an invoking prayer by Prof.Malsawmliana. The students showcased their talents through cultural dances and enactments depicting different eras in history.
The awareness program was held under the PM Usha scheme and sponsorship from various organizations including Active Sound sponsored the singing competition. Overall, it was a vibrant celebration of culture and unity.

The Foundation Day of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram was commemorated at Lok Bhavan, Mizoram on February 24, 2026. The event was held in two sessions - one at 3 AM and the second session was the interaction session with the governor.
The Honourable Governor of Mizoram was the chief guest at the event. Dr. Jenifer Lalbiakdiki, Principal, was requested to give a speech on behalf of the people of Mizoram. The Thingsiri Cultural Club of the College presented a medley, a fusion of two dances, and a traditional costume parade was also presented by the students of Government College.
Refreshments were served by the Governor's office, adding to the festive atmosphere.

MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, organised the National Voters’ Day Padyatra / Sundays on Cycle – 2026 on 25 January across all State & Union Territory capitals and District Headquarters, with the objective of maximising youth participation in the democratic process with the caption of MY Bharat MY Vote. Since 25th January 2025 is Sunday Mizoram state has been permitted to observed any convenient day window period ie 25th -30th January 2026. The programme is observed in all district as well as in State Capitals. In, Aizawl on 30th January 2026 it was jointly organised by Mera Yuva Bharat , Govt T.Romana College, Youth Club and SAI.

One of the key objectives of the programme is to sensitise young citizens about the importance of voting, encourage voter registration and correction of electoral roll.
The programme witnesses the active participation of MY Bharat volunteers, students and first-time voters. Activities include padyatras (rally on Foot) , two wheeler events, felicitation of first-time voters, voter awareness interactions, pledge-taking ceremony, cultural performance by Thingsiri cultural club of the college, and distribution of healthy refreshments. Dr. Lalrozama, the Chief Electoral Officer of Mizoram was the chiefguest who delivered an informative speech. Dr. Jenifer Lalbiakdiki , the principal delivered the welcome address, the pledge was administered by Mrs. Ramdinliani and the vote of thanks was presented by Mrs. Mercy Sellate, State Director, MYB , Mizoram.

The college Felicitation committee organised a programme on 11.03.2026 to felicitate students who did well in the the 2025 0dd Semester Under graduate Examination.
The Women Cell/ Internal Complaint cell organised a seminar/ workshop on the same day and the next ie. 12.03.2026 on the topic 'Gender Equity and Sensitisation' under the PM - USHA scheme. The resource persons who spoke on the topic were Dr.Lalchhuanmawii and Mrs. Ramdinliani

Vanlalruatfela 4th Semester participated in the 16th Junior National Bodybuilding Championship held in Hyderabad, Telangana, as he secured a National Bronze Medal. 🏅
This achievement marks a historic milestone as it is the first time a Mizo athlete has won a national-level medal in this competition. By ushering in this new chapter for the Mizo community, he has brought us great pride. We extend our heartiest congratulations to him on this significant success.

The college and the Yummy food Ltd. jointly organised Dancing, Eating and Cos play Competition in the college. Mika of 6th Semester won the Dance Battle. Cos play competition was won by Philip Lalremtluanga & Ruthi Ramengmawii

A Legal Awareness Programme on Child Friendly Legal Services to Children was successfully conducted on 19th February 2026 (Thursday) at Government T. Romana College. The programme was organised by the Mizoram State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the Legal Cell, IQAC, and the Department of Sociology of the college.
The primary objective of the programme was to create awareness about child-friendly legal mechanisms, rights of children, and the availability of free legal services. The initiative aimed to educate students and faculty members about the importance of safeguarding children’s rights and ensuring access to justice in a supportive and sensitive manner.

On February 16, 2026 the Department of Public Administration organised Training of Sustainable Life Skill for students of 6th Semester at the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Mizoram. Three faculty and 43 students participated in the training. This is the third consecutive year for organising such training for students.
It is a tradition in Govt. T.Romana College to observe Valentines Day by creating an awareness on safe sex and promoting celibacy until marriage. The college observed the same on 13th February, 2026 as the 14th of February falls on a Saturday.
