Mr. Lalengmawia, IAS, the Commissioner of Higher and Technical Education, paid a visit to Govt. T. Romana College on May 13, 2025. The Commissioner was accompanied by some officials from the Secretariat and the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education. A brief meeting was held in the Meeting Hall to extend a warm welcome to the Commissioner and his team. The meeting was chaired by Mr. R. Lalremliana, Vice-Principal of Government T. Romana College, who welcomed the Commissioner and the other officials and provided a brief overview of the College’s history.
Subsequently, the Commissioner delivered an inspiring, insightful, and thought-provoking address, outlining the objectives of his visit. He inspired the faculty and staff to commit themselves to nurturing successful and responsible students. Reflecting on his experiences, he stressed the significant role of educators in the contemporary era. He further encouraged teachers to remain vigilant, updated and aware of societal issues. He further underscored that academic excellence alone does not guarantee success; rather, self-confidence is paramount. Besides, from his perspective, to eliminate the social evils, each mother has a crucial role to play in both the family and the community.
Moreover, the Commissioner informed the faculty about the office protocols and issues related to the implementation of the State University. Senior faculty members, such as Mr. C. Laldinsanga, Associate Professor (Department of Sociology), and Mr. CVL Tlanhlua, Associate Professor, Department of Public Administration, raised queries regarding the development and upgradation of the College, including PMGSY, Allocation of Funds for IQAC and so on. Dr. Dorothy Zonunsangi, the IQAC Coordinator, also briefed the Commissioner and his team on the ongoing preparation of the forthcoming Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA) and the 4th Cycle of the NAAC Assessment. The Commissioner received and addressed all queries effectively. The visit was certainly a rewarding experience.
