Following the Central Vigilance Commission's guidelines, Govt. T. Romana College conducted Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 on October 28, 2024 (Monday). The Department of English conducted an awareness session centred around the theme in their Core Room. Dr. Dorothy Zonunsangi, IQAC Coordinator and Head, Department of English gave a special lecture 
on the theme chosen for 2024, ‘CULTURE OF INTEGRITY FOR NATION'S PROSPERITY’. She highlighted the need to be vigilant in all facets of life and further elaborated on the different forms of corruption, providing an overview of its detrimental effects.
Subsequently, students from various departments took the Integrity Pledge under the supervision of Dr. Dorothy Zonunsangi, IQAC Coordinator, and Dr. Sakhawliana, IQAC Assistant Coordinator at the College Courtyard.
Dr. Dorothy Zonunsangi provided a short lecture on how all citizens must be vigilant and adhere to high standards of honesty and integrity at all times to combat corruption in society.
On the initiative taken by IQAC, Vigilance Awareness Week banner was displayed on the exterior wall of the College Building.
The 5th Semester Undergraduate students of Public Administration, Govt.T.Romana College, successfully conducted a field visit to the Gilead Special School for Spastic Children run by Spastic Society, Aizawl, Mizoram on 24th October 2024.
The visit aimed to provide practical exposure, understanding and empathy towards individuals with physical and neurological disabilities, complementing theoretical knowledge in their Paper VIII (a) 'Social Welfare Administration'. Following activities have been undertaken during the visit:
# Interaction with students, teachers and staff
# Observation of specialized teaching methods and therapies
# Group discussions on inclusive education and support systems
Students Evangelical Union of Govt. T. Romana College participated in the 15th Spiritual Convention of the Mizoram Students Evangelical Union (MSEU) during 20 - 22 September, 2024. The Convention was organized at the Local Baptist Church, Chanmari, Lungei which is the second capital of Mizoram. The MSEU have 21 Units from different colleges and Higher Secondary Schools. More than 1000 delegates attended the Convention this year. Every year, students of Govt. T. Romana College used to participate in the MSEU Conventions, this year 64 students and 2 faculty members attended the Programme. The College EU presents a beautiful choir on Sunday afternoon in the programme chaired by Mr. Baby Lalramsiami HOD, Education Dept. In the Fellwoship Programme on 22nd September, the College EU performed Live Musical Instrument Play. Apart from this, on 22nd September Dr. Lalchhuanmawii HOD, Public Administration led the Initiation Service in Night Service. The Convention ended with a success as students attending the programme were uplifted morally and spiritually. The students also gained by meeting students of different colleges which would greatly enhance their communication skill and such exposure would also be useful in their personal development.
Fifth semester students of the Department of Education on 27th September 2024 visited three pre-schools and five Anganwadi centres in Aizawl city in relation to their course Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). Students were divided into eight groups, consisting six members in each group and they were assigned to visit various ECCE centres in Aizawl city. The students administered the questionnaire consisting general information of the institution developed by the department. The students found it very enriching to see those centres on the spot. The ECCE centres visited are as follows:
1. Greenhill Montessori School, Saron veng, Aizawl.
2. Angela Academy, Bethlehem vengthleng, Aizawl.
3. Little Steps Pre-school, Republic Veng, Aizawl.
4. Republic Anganwadi centre III, Aizawl.
5. Tlangnuam Anganwadi centre, Aizawl.
6. Saron veng Anganwadi centre, Aizawl.
7. ITI Anganwadi centre III, Aizawl.
8. New Secretariat Complex Anganwadi centre, Aizawl.
Vanlalruatfela 4th Semester participated in the 16th Junior National Bodybuilding Championship held in Hyderabad, Telangana, as he secured a National Bronze Medal. 🏅
This achievement marks a historic milestone as it is the first time a Mizo athlete has won a national-level medal in this competition. By ushering in this new chapter for the Mizo community, he has brought us great pride. We extend our heartiest congratulations to him on this significant success.
Govt. T. Romana College, successfully underwent “Energy & Green Audit” on 25 August 2025 to assess the initiative. The college qualified the requirements of Green audit as per A+ Grade. The certificate is valid till August 2028.
A Legal Awareness Programme on Child Friendly Legal Services to Children was successfully conducted on 19th February 2026 (Thursday) at Government T. Romana College. The programme was organised by the Mizoram State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the Legal Cell, IQAC, and the Department of Sociology of the college.
The primary objective of the programme was to create awareness about child-friendly legal mechanisms, rights of children, and the availability of free legal services. The initiative aimed to educate students and faculty members about the importance of safeguarding children’s rights and ensuring access to justice in a supportive and sensitive manner.
C. Malsawmtluanga of Fourth Semester won the 1st Prize in India's Open Arm Wrestling Competition in Bhogeswari Indoor stadium, Guwahati on the 15th of February, 2026 organised by Clubdowntown.
C. Malsawmtluang had also won the gold medal in the First Inter- College Arm wrestling Competition organised by the college in 2025 .
On February 16, 2026 the Department of Public Administration organised Training of Sustainable Life Skill for students of 6th Semester at the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Mizoram. Three faculty and 43 students participated in the training. This is the third consecutive year for organising such training for students.
It is a tradition in Govt. T.Romana College to observe Valentines Day by creating an awareness on safe sex and promoting celibacy until marriage. The college observed the same on 13th February, 2026 as the 14th of February falls on a Saturday.
