checking single use plastics

Govt. T. Romana College has established itself as a Plastic-free campus, with the objective of significantly reducing plastic waste and pollution both within the campus and in the surrounding environment. In line with this commitment, on the 30th August 2024, a surprise inspection was carried out at the main entrance of the College to assess the use of single-use plastics among students and staff. The inspection was conducted by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in collaboration with the Eco Club and Cleanliness and Beautification Cell, GTRC. The initiative proved to be effective, as the inspection team discovered one student and one staff member in possession of single-use plastic items. As a result, their bottles were confiscated, and a fine was imposed for breaching the regulations established by the College authorities.
